At Renaissance Christian Church, the pastoral role is shared by Jim Kelly and Rick Morcombe:

Rick Morcombe is the founding pastor of Renaissance Christian Church. At the age of fifteen, he had a conversion experience that resulted in his call to Christian ministry. After graduation from Bible College in 1973, Rick pastored a number of Pentecostal churches in British Columbia. It was in the winter of 1989 that he had his "dark night of the soul" when the church he was pastoring found out that he was gay. As a result, he lost his church, ministry and credentials with his denomination. Broken in spirit and heart he found his was to Liberty Community Church where he found renewed faith and hope. In 1992 he became the pastor of Liberty. After five years of ministry there he and his partner resigned. In 1998, along with his partner Joel of 16 years, they started Renaissance Christian Church in Vancouver's gay and lesbian community. In 2006 after seven years of ministry at Renaissance they took a three year sabbatical. Jim Kelly was called to the Ministry of Renaissance. In September of 2008, Rick and Joel returned to assist Jim Kelly and share the responsibilities as Co-Pastor.
